ITINERARY IN DETAIL:

ACCRA - Day 1

You’ve Arrived

Arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, there will be staff on site to assist you through airport formalities and baggage claim. You will be transported safely and comfortably in a fully air-conditioned transit van to your hotel. You settle in at the hotel, freshen up, dinner and a night out on the town.

ACCRA - Day 2

A Healthy Dose of History

After breakfast, we do a city tour of Accra, the capital of Ghana. This tour will see us through the Usher fort, Osu Castle, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, the market life, and local kitchen to experience local food preparation

KUMASI - Day 3

Rich Traditions

This morning (5am) we will head towards Kumasi, Ghana’s cultural capital, Kumasi and its environs is full of historically significant places to visit. Manyhia Palace, the home of the Asantehene, Komfo Anokye Hospital and Sword, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and Kumasi Central Market.

KUMASI - Day 4

Knowing Kente

On this day, there will be a visit to Bonwire where you will learn about local kente weaving traditions, as well as Adinkra symbols. A famous traditional cloth, Kente is mostly used during important ceremonies such as weddings, festivals and funerals. You will visit an ancient village known as Bonwire that first introduced kente spinning and weaving.

FIEMA - Day 5

The Sanctuary

One of Ghana's popular community-based ecotourism sites where Monkeys live happily with human beings. Visit and play with rare Colobus and Mona monkeys. This monkey sanctuary is home to over 700 monkeys, in a natural environment.

ASSIN MANSO - DAY 6

In Remembrance

We depart Kumasi and travel south to Cape Coast. A stop over at Assin Manso a small historical town on the banks of the Pra River. This riverbanks was the last site where captured slaves traveling south to Cape Coast were made to take their last baths before their arrival at the slave castles to await for ships to the Americas.

CAPE COAST - Day 7

Nurtured by Nature

This morning you will head to Kakum National Park, accompanied by a park ranger, you will walk the bridges and enjoy all that the tropical rain forest has to offer.

ACCRA - Day 8

CULTURE

Back in Accra, After days of building new memories, today you will have a chance to relax and reflect. It’s beach day! You will have ample time to sit on a palm-lined beach and watch the waves crash into the sand.

ACCRA - Day 9

Bon Voyage

Today is departure day! Our ladies that are interested can have their hair braided. There will be a trip to the cultural market where you can buy souvenirs for loved ones and for home décor. Back to hotel for dinner and then to the airport. Goodbyes would be shared, and you fly off with new memories.
